FALL TREND ALERT: Boots!

- Boots are definitely a staple shoe for fall.  I LOVE boots! They can be dressed up with a skirt or dressed down with jeans and a top.  They are SO versatile and come in so many different colors and styles! Celebrities love this style and are photographed constantly in different types of fall boots!

Trends & Styles:

1.) RIDING BOOTS
- Very similar to boots that equestrian riders wear, these boots are extremely comfy and so cute for fall! I love how they look with a pair of dark skinny jeans and a cozy fall sweater.  Most riding boots come with no heel or a very little heel which allows them to be worn on normal casual day. Riding boots can essentially be found at most women's shoe stores.  I love the riding boots that these sights offer:

2.)  COMBAT BOOTS
- This style of boots have become SO popular in 2012.  They started to make a big appearance this summer when many girls were wearing them with shorts for a cute way to mix up a summer outfit.  I personally love these boots for fall the most! I think they look cutest with skinny jeans and a trendy shirt or vintage tee.  Just like riding boots, these shoes come in a big variety of colors and styles.  I love the edgy and unique look they give!  They can be a little harder to come across, but are starting to be available for purchase at many popular shoe stores, such as:

Boots are such a fun accessory for fall! I hope this trend alert will help
you pick the perfect fall boot for YOUR style.

Are you feeling stressed and overwhelmed
with managing school and a social life?

-We've all felt this way before.  The constant struggle between knowing the amount of school work and studying you need to do and wanting to make time for friends, family, and a social life.  Although this can be an ongoing problem, it is important to find ways to help you keep yourself organized as well as your time and your responsibilities organized.   So you can have a healthy and balanced life!

Here are some tips to help keep you organized:

1.) Keep a calendar- this will help you to know all the responsibilities you have committed to and help you to see the days or times that you are free for socializing.

2.) Designate your time- it is important to designate a chunk of time each day to school.  It can be an hour each day after dinner, or 30 minutes of studying before bed. Whatever it is make sure that you use that designated time each day for just school. Put the phone, computer, tablet away, and solely focus on your school assignments or studying.

3.) Make commitments you can keep- it is so easy to agree to every mall trip or activity that comes your way, but it is important that you only agree to go to things that will allow you time for fun and also time to get your school work completed.

4.) Remember due dates- make sure that you know when assignments, papers, or projects are due.  This will make sure that you are allowing yourself time and the ability to designate the proper amount of time for the work.  It will also allow you to not rush the few days before a big assignments which could make you miss out on some fun social events!

"If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change" -Wayne Dyer

I've always been someone who hated change. No matter how big or small the change is it never settles well with me. It is natural for people to fear change. Even if people don't admit it most people LOVE their routine.  They enjoy knowing what is on the agenda for tomorrow and what to expect in the future.  That is definitely the case for me, I love having a routine and being settled into my routine.  Every time that a big change happens in my life I always seem to go through an emotional roller coaster; happy, sad, scared, excited, and of course fearful.  Recently I encountered a HUGE change in life.  I graduated from high school in June 2012 and started my first year of college in August.  For me, High School was wonderful.  I was blessed with an amazing group of friends, was involved in my classes student government, and participated in many activities.  I loved high school and I was so settled into my routine there and felt so comfortable.  All summer I had been anticipating college, I found myself being so excited for this change, but also so very scared.  Majority of my friends went away to different schools as well as my boyfriend.  I however, am staying in my hometown and attending the local community college while I figure out exactly what 4 year college I want to attend and figure out my exact plan in life.  The first few weeks at school were hectic and overwhelming, but I knew that soon enough it would all settle down and become my new routine.  I was so excited to meet new friends and get involved in lots of activities like high school.  A few weeks ago I got really down and started having a "pity party" for myself.  I was so frustrated because I had not met any new friends and felt like I was spending all my time either at school, doing homework, or working.  I let myself feel down and unhappy for a good two weeks.  I am not someone who likes to be down or is an unhappy person.  I like to be upbeat and enjoy everyday I am given to the absolute fullest.  One day I woke up and decided that things were not going to get better by feeling sorry for myself, they were only going to get better if I put in the effort to make this first year of college and the years after a positive and happy experience.  This realization allowed me to begin to enjoy college, I am starting to make new friends and involve myself in some activities.  I came to the realization that although change is scary, it will always be a part of life.  It is important to not FEAR the future or change because life is full of changes and moving forward.  It is great to love the past and appreciate the experiences and memories you received from it, but it is extremely important that you embrace new changes in your life and the future with open arms because someday you will encounter a new change and you want to always be able to look fondly on the memories you have created.  I am so happy to be loving and embracing this new time in my life.  It is such a crucial time in my life.  I get to choose who I want to be and what I want to do with my life.  So next time you find yourself fearful of change or the future make sure to change the way you are looking, have your eyes look back at the past with happiness and look forward to the future with excitement and courage.

Much Love,
Jenna
My Fall Make-Up Essentials

Here in California the Fall weather is so unpredictable.  It can be rainy and cold one day and then extremely hot the next day.  My skin in Fall gets so confused, it will alternate from dry to oily.  I have found the perfect set of products for Fall.  The combination of these products will allow you to have a make-up look incorporating Fall colors and allowing your face to feel fresh and light, no matter what the weather is!

Moisturizier:

- It is important to moisturize your face, this will allow for a overall more 'flawless' look and help with that pesky fall dryness that our skin starts to have as it gets chillier outside.

My moisturizer of choice is "Neutrogena's Oil-Free Moisturizer For Combination Skin"  This moisturizer is great! I use the 'combination skin' version because I have a mixture of oily and dry skin.  This moisturizer is perfect because it applies evenly and doesn't leave your face feeling sticky or greasy.  There are many different forms of this product for all types of skin types!

Foundation:

- For fall you want to use a foundation that is lightweight, but gives full coverage.  You also want to use something that has SPF in it because some fall days can be very sunny!

For fall, I use "Covergirl Natureluxe Foundation" I think this is the absolute BEST fall foundation.  It gives me overall great coverage and doesn't leave my skin oily.  I also love the fact that their is a little bit of SPF in it so I can feel protected from the sun.

Powder:

- I like a light powder that can leave my face with an overall matte finish.  I especially enjoy this look for fall.  It is important to pick a powder that can give you good coverage as well as stay on even in heat or harsh winds.

My number one powder for fall is "Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder" I had read so many reviews about this powder and recently decided to give it a try and now I am definitely hooked! This powder allows your skin to have such a flawless and matte look.  It applies very nicely and doesn't get stuck in the cracks or blemishes in your skin.

Eyeshadow:

- I absolutely LOVE the colors of fall, they are so warm and cozy.  Fall colors also happen to be my favorite eyeshadow colors to wear.  I love all the browns, bronze, and warm colors that all occur in fall.  They compliment every eye color and add for a nice "natural" look for fall.

The "Naked Palette" by Urban Decay is honestly the most PERFECT palette for fall.  I received this palette for Christmas last year and use it constantly, but my favorite eyeshadow combinations for fall always come from this palette.  I think this palette is great because you can do a nice fall eye for school and then glam it up with some sparkly bronze colors for night. It allows for nice and bright eyeshadow looks or for a more dramatic brown smokey eye.  Every color is very pigmented and stays applied to your eye all day, especially when used with an eyeshadow primer!

Blush:

- Blush is always an essential make up product for me.  I think it can add the perfect amount of color or glow to your look.  For fall I lean more towards creme blushes because I feel like they last longer through both warm days and cold days.

I use "Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush" during the fall season.  I love this product! There are such a variety of colors to choose from.  For fall I lean more towards the warmer color and darker pinks.  This product applies beautifully to the skin.  It allows for a vibrant color without looking over the top.  They are very pigmented, so a little goes a long way.  This blush also stays put on the skin all day long, which is a big plus in my book!

These are my go to products for fall! They have helped me to create my perfect fall look and can be used for a simple day look or create a more extravagant night look.  Fall has so many beautiful color options and looks.

Hope these products can help you to establish your essential "Fall Favorites" as well!
